Before joining Philips Lighting, he was associated with Berger Paints group, where he held the position of Company Secretary in the promoters group.

He is the associate member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India. He holds bachelor degree in law, and completed  Bachelor of Arts in History Honours from Delhi University. He also holds a Master degree in Business Administration from BULMIM.
